Pick sustainable diapers
What better way to pamper your baby’s bottom than by giving it the most thoughtful and safe covering? Welcome to the wonderous world of sustainable diapers. Here, you can keep that plump bottom 100% chemical and chafe-free. From cloth to plant-based, reusable to disposable, you’ve got a pick of the lot. The best kind of diaper is one that works wonderfully well for you and your baby. And remember, clean diapers equal a clean planet.
Keep changing that nappy
Check that nappy for nasties. Leaving your baby’s bottom wet and dirty can cause all kinds of allergy and irritation. Especially if it’s the big P. So, get changing. And be quick. Wipe that bottom clean, pat it dry, apply diaper cream or ointment, and put on a fresh diaper. A baby typically goes through 10 to 12 changes per day, what with all the pee and poo.
Use natural baby wipes
Organic and eco-friendly baby wipes are a mama must-have. They’re gentle, effective, convenient, free of alcohol and fragrance. Plus, they’re amazing at cleaning dirty fingers and sticky faces, too! Here’s the bottom line. Be thorough and gentle while wiping that tiny butt. And always wipe from front to back, making sure to get into those folds. Nappy off, it’s time to wipe…
Let that bottom breathe
Free your baby’s bottom every now and then, won’t you? It’s important to let the cheeks air out a little each day. You can do so after a good wiping down and lathering up. While we mentioned the importance of regular nappy changes, it doesn’t change the fact that a little free time is critical to prevent diaper rash. You’ll see how baby your baby is without the restrictions.
Apply diaper rash cream
Your baby’s bottom is exposed to a variety of bacteria-breeding moisture and excrement. Which is why, diaper cream is an essential part to the care ritual. The ointment forms a protective barrier between your baby’s sensitive skin and the diaper. A shield of sorts. Like with nappies and wipes, you must always go in for all natural creams that will refresh and soothe. Use a dime-sized amount and wipe into the buttocks.
Very soon, wiping your baby’s bottom will become second nature to you.
But no one is perfect or shall we say, poofect.
So, keep at it with patience and determination.
